This question is not easily answered. There is no law that says you are required to use a realtor when purchasing a home. With that said, why would you not want to take advantage of the free services a realtor can offer to be very beneficial to your home buying experience? Being a buyer it doesn’t cost you a cent to have real estate agent represent you. It can actually save you thousands when buying a house! Realtors are trained and committed to protect and serve in the buyers interests above all else.

Buying a house is a huge financial and emotional commitment. The purpose of having a realtor is to have someone who represents you as a buyer and be a liaison between the seller’s agent and you. Realtors can take the stress out of buying a home; but how?

You have just bought the house of your dreams but, it’s just an empty house…how do you make it a home? Here are a few tips to get you motivated to turning your new house into the home of your dreams!!

1.)    Color makes a huge difference! Have a favorite color? Go to the local hardware store and browse around for different hues in that color. Most places allow you to take samples of the colors you like. Try out different colors and cut out magazine pictures of furniture and wall decor to help bring the room together. Get creative; you never know what might inspire you!

2.)    Nothing says this is a home like family pictures. Make a collage of pictures; from vacations, to holidays and class photos. There are so many ways to arrange a photo collage,

Getting a Jump Start on the Busy Season

Spring is one of the busiest seasons for buying and selling homes in the real estate market. But, in a college town that is multiplied with freshman coming into town and seniors moving away. There is no better time than now to get a jump start on your home search. Here are a few suggestions and tips to getting ahead of the spring rush.

1.) Research, research, research. Find a realtor that fits your needs. Find someone who pays close attention to the specifics and is there to be helpful. Also, know the specifics to location, neighborhoods, school districts, work proximities, floor plans, size of yards, etc. 

2.) Loans. Visit your bank and see what kind of loans are available and what you can be approved for.
